I have been floating the idea of starting up a newsletter for a few weeks now, and today I am ready to make it a reality. You can sign up now and the newsletters will begin going out Monday.
What can you expect from these newsletters? Pretty much a little bit of anything and everything I happen to be covering on the Internet. Because I write for so many different websites, run multiple podcasts, and cover a handful of different topics, I wanted to make it easier to get a summary of some of my work to help you ensure you’re not missing anything. The trick for me will be to make this newsletter not so much a college football only newsletter, but a healthy blend of college football, sports, pop culture, and more while sharing some of my favorite links to stuff I have written and more.
The plan will be to roll out three newsletters throughout the week, each having its own main objective. The first newsletter going out Monday morning will serve as a weekend roundup with links to my college football and NFL columns from the weekend. Fridays will serve as a bit of a weekend preview with links to any game previews I have organized as well as some picks for the weekend. As an incentive, I plan on making three picks exclusively in the newsletter so you won’t get those anywhere else. There will also be a newsletter somewhere between Tuesday and Thursday with links to various podcasts or radio interviews and some other content that has been published so far that week.
This will not be just a football newsletter. This is my newsletter, so I’ll be sharing some content and thoughts about some other topics of interest to me, including commentary on TV, movies, video games, and other pop culture or news subjects and anything else that pops up. Each newsletter will be sure to include any necessary reminders for live chats on Facebook, Periscope, or Twitch coming up that week. This newsletter initiative will also encourage me to keep creating content as well. So while I hope you get something out of it, it will continue to push me to up my game as well.
If it sounds interesting to you, then I encourage you to sign up today and give it a try. If you don’t like it, unsubscribing is painless and easy, although you might just hurt my feelings in the process. But the choice is yours to make, and it is up to me to keep the newsletter fresh and worth keeping in your inbox.
